Teacher Asked Kids What Invention They Wish Didn’t Exist. One Girl’s Answer Will Break Your Heart
A second grade teacher named Jen Beason set her class a task. She asked her students to write about an invention they wished had never been invented.
Heart breakingly, four of Beason’s students wrote how they wished their parent’s phones had never been invented. The sobering reason why? Because their parents spend more time on their phones than they do playing with their children.
It’s a stark reminder that our children need our time and full attention. From now on it’s time to put down our phones and plug in our children’s lives.
Beason posted about her students’ responses in a Facebook post. One student started off with the question ‘Tell me about an invention you don’t like. Why?’
“If I had to tell you what invention I don’t like I would say that I don’t like the phone. I don’t like the phone because my (parents) are on their phone every day. A phone is sometimes a really bad (habit). I hate my mom’s phone and I wish she never had one . That is a invention that I don’t like.
The paragraph was ended with a cute little drawing of a sad person and a mobile phone.
