People Are Convinced Old Photo Showing Child Holding iPad Is Proof Of Time Travel
A photo from 1941 has left Reddit users scratching their heads, sparking wild theories about time travel.
As technology continues to blur the lines between science fiction and reality, many are now convinced that a photo from the 1940s is ‘proof’ that time travel has already happened.
The image, taken in 1941, shows a line of children dressed smartly, waiting outside a cinema in Chicago. But one boy, on the far right of the shot, is holding something that some believe to be an iPad.
Of course, the first iPad wasn’t introduced until 2010, a full 69 years later. But the object in the boy’s hand does have a finish reminiscent of a tablet, leading some to speculate that it could be an early version—if time travel is indeed involved.
The boy on the far-right has sparked much conversation, with many suggesting he might be holding an iPad.
It’s a bit of a stretch, of course—after all, the iPad wasn’t even conceived yet. But Reddit users have come up with their own theories, the most popular being… time travel.
One user commented, “iPad-carrying moviegoer, all the way to the right,” while another boldly declared, “This is proof of time travel.”
Not everyone bought into the theory, though. Others offered more grounded explanations.
One user joked, “He’s just practicing piracy—back in the day, ushers would check for pens and notepads to stop bootleg films from being made.” Another suggested, “It’s probably The Holy Bible. They’re all dressed up for church, bless their hearts.”
