A NICU Nurse Finally Reunites With All The Babies She’s Saved. Her Reaction Moved Me To Tears
Renee is a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) nurse at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. The NICU unit specializes in caring for ill or premature newborn infants. Over the course of her career, Renee has helped care and save thousands of premature babies.
Recently, she was asked to sit down and watch a video. She was not told why she should watch it or what it was for, but as the video played, Renee was overcome with emotion. The video showed clips of multiple families who explained how big of a role Renee has served in their lives. The families talk about how Renee helped save their babies’ lives, and without her, they wouldn’t be where they are today.
As if this wasn’t enough, the moment the video ends, family after family enters through the door. They hold pictures of their babies and walk towards Renee. But the surprise came when the healthy children that Renee saved as premature infants run to her side and give her a huge hug. Renee was their guardian angel and saved their lives. After so many years, Renee was properly thanked and recognized for her wonderful. She tries to stay in touch with the families she’s helped, but she never once thought that they would all personally visit her just to thank her.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Renee says, “I love taking care of these babies. I don’t do what I do for any kind of thank you, but it’s a wonderful feeling to be appreciated.”
