Customers Rage Over Door Sign ..Restaurant’s Response Is Brilliant
Many of you may be familiar with the veterans’ discount. The men and women of our police force are the reason we live in a safe, law-abiding society. Despite the fact that their work is among the most important and demanding in our country, many people believe they are underpaid.
Recently, a KFC restaurant in Ohio decided to join in and offer a similar recognition. The store’s posting sparked a variety of responses online.
It’s likely that many of you are aware of the veterans’ discount. Our society remains safe and law-abiding thanks to the men and women who serve in law enforcement. Although their work is crucial and incredibly demanding, many feel that they are underpaid. Recently, a KFC in Ohio decided to offer their own show of appreciation. The store’s notice sparked a flurry of online comments, with some questioning whether this offer was really necessary. Others expressed that they would prefer not to receive special treatment and would even pay for their own meal as officers.
In response, Facebook page administrators shared the following: “While some may not see the bigger picture, this is a positive initiative. As an officer, I never expect anything for free, whether I’m in uniform or not. Many of my colleagues share the same sentiment. We don’t want ‘special treatment.’ This post was made because KFC is recognizing law enforcement.” To those who suggested that recognition should also extend to other first responders, my answer is: Absolutely.
The sign will remain in place in the store, serving as a salute to the officers who put their lives on the line. It’s a simple gesture to let them know that we appreciate their efforts.
