Boy With Prosthetic Leg Finds Best Friend In Puppy Born Without A Paw
A golden retriever puppy born without a paw has found her forever home after being adopted by a family whose son lost a leg.
The dog named Marvel was the only puppy from her litter born without a front right paw. But it was clearly fate, as right at that time the family from Minosota were on the lookout for a family pet.
“When she was born, we knew right away she had a special purpose,” breeder Barb Felt said. “We wanted her to go in a home with someone who had a limb difference.”
7-year-old Paxton Williams was born premature. A complication caused him to develop an infection in his right leg. Paxton’s parents had to make the difficult decision 3 years ago to have his right leg amputated.
“It gives him the opportunity to tell the kids, ‘Oh, she’s missing a paw, she’s like me,'” Paxton’s Mom explained. “And like it gives him that voice, too, to advocate for himself.”
What an amazing story. They are forever bonded as best friends and can help each other grow in confidence as they over come obstacles together.
