This Barber Gives Free Badass Haircuts To The Homeless On His Days Off.
Nasir Sobhani, aka The Streets Barber, cuts homeless people’s hair on his day off. It’s his way of giving back. He says he does it to repay his gratitude ‘for being sober and healthy again’.
Nas, 26, who is the subject of a new PLGRM documentary, is a recovering drug addict. He also practises the Baha’i faith, which he credits for his sobriety, along with his passion for slick haircuts.
Nasir’s life is an amazing story. Growing up in Japan, and spending time living all over the world. From University in Canada to Youth Work in the Jungles of Vanuatu, before moving to Australia and starting up his own initiative following his faith, to help the homeless. This program is called Clean Cut Clean Start #cleancutcleanstart.
I don’t even think it is the haircuts themselves that make the huge difference. What’s amazing is the fact that he tries to connect with these people and actually talk to them and listen to their stories. It can make someone’s day by showing genuine intrest and/or concern for them. He is a truly inspiring person!
