Sam had arranged a vacation for his wife and children at a luxury hotel, telling his wife that she truly deserved it.
When Cindy asked if he wasn’t coming along, Sam explained that he was tied up with a major project and it would be better for them to go without him.
Though initially unsure, Cindy accepted the offer, especially with the children eagerly anticipating the trip.
On the first night, after the children had fallen asleep, Cindy’s thoughts turned to suspicion. Was Sam cheating on her?
For the next four nights, that nagging thought consumed her. Unable to shake her doubts, she hired a babysitter for the day, drove back home, and hoped to catch her husband in the act.
As she slowly opened the door to her house, she was surprised to find her mother-in-law, Donna, sitting on the couch, sipping tea from Cindy’s own mug.
Donna looked up and said, “Well, look who’s back early.” Cindy, confused, asked, “What are you d—”
Donna cut her off, asking if Sam hadn’t told her about her arrival. At that moment, Sam emerged from the kitchen, oblivious to Cindy’s return.
“Cindy! You’re… home?” he said, caught off guard.
“You didn’t think this was worth mentioning, Sam?” she responded, frustration evident in her voice.
Later that night, Cindy retreated to the guest room to sleep, but she overheard a conversation between Sam and Donna. Donna was speaking ill of Cindy, but Sam quickly defended her, reiterating that Cindy was the love of his life and the mother of his children.
Then, to Cindy’s surprise, Sam did something she hadn’t expected: he kicked his mother out of the house. Donna continued to insult Cindy, but Sam couldn’t stand it any longer.
While Cindy was still pretending to sleep, Sam went to the hotel and brought the children back home. By the time he returned, the sun was rising. He prepared breakfast for the family and woke Cindy up with a gentle kiss.
